Physical Therapy
Physical therapy is often used as a means of rehabilitation and to speed up the recovery process after receiving treatment for an injury or after surgery. During physical therapy, patients will go through various exercises to get back into form and return to full function. Athletes trying to return to a sport will go through organized training.
Sometimes training can be quite difficult, especially in the beginning when there is more pain and the foot feels awkward. To alleviate this, basic twisting and stretching exercises may be implemented to help improve flexibility and increase foot mobility. The therapist may also massage the injured area to activate and relax muscles. Over time you will eventually move up to strengthening exercises, designed specifically so that the injured area is exercised.
